Trabzon Shipyard is a full-service yard in Sürmene (Çamburnu) on the Black Sea, about 40 minutes from Trabzon Airport and equally accessible from Rize-Artvin Airport. The yard designs, builds, maintains and repairs seagoing vessels: dry cargo, liquid cargo, chemical tankers, offshore craft, tugs, sea-river ships, LPG/LNG carriers and dredgers.
MOTEC is the partner of Trabzon Shipyard for newbuilding, repair and the luxury yacht brand Orion Yachts. The yard delivers a complete A-to-Z service, with disciplined deadlines and in-house engineering, prefabrication and quay capacity.
The company traces back to Pega Shipping (2005) and Nur Shipping, until Salih Zeki Çakır acquired all shares in February 2024. He is the founder of Trabzon Shipyard, a founding member of Sefine Shipyard and operator of ORAS Shipping. In March 2024 the company was renamed Trabzon Shipyard Inc. (shipbuilding, maintenance, repair, industry and trade).
The yard covers 103,000 m² in Çamburnu, with enough quay so that large newbuild and repair jobs do not interfere with each other. Facilities include a CNC cutting and prefabrication shop, three open newbuild and drydock areas up to 155 × 55 m, a 145 × 45 m repair zone, 130 × 25 m enclosed storage and a 110 m quay with two 40 t tower cranes.
The Black Sea location, with hills behind the site, is logistically strong for regional owners and partners as well as international calls. Heavy production (presses up to 600 t, CNC, water jet) sits alongside experienced engineering for demanding projects.

Support equipment: ship pulling winches (3), manlifts (4), 600 t press, 300 t press, 400 t profile bending press, CNC cutting, water jet 0–600 bar.
Trabzon Shipyard was laid out for dry cargo, liquid cargo and chemical ships, offshore vessels and tugs. Prefabrication, slipways up to 200 m long and 55 m wide, and heavy lifting (including a 2 × 50 t rail crane and 40 t tower cranes) allow large sections to be built in house.
The yard runs its own engineering and a production hall that combines CNC cutting, welding (MAG, TIG, flux-cored) and plate forming. Quality, safety and environmental control sit inside the yard’s ISO systems.
Maintenance decides how long a ship stays in quality service. Trabzon Shipyard is equipped to dock and repair a wide range of vessels: dry cargo, tankers, chemical ships, offshore units and tugs. Slipways, quay, a 145 × 45 m repair area and pulling winches cover both dry-docking and alongside work.
Through Orion Yachts the same group also refits yachts: from targeted upgrades to a full refresh of interior, navigation and propulsion, always after assessing the vessel and the owner’s brief.
The yard runs commercial newbuildings alongside the luxury yacht brand. Three current references:

Orion Yachts also works as a refit yard: first a thorough survey of condition and owner brief, then a tailored plan. The facilities cover small upgrades through to extensive rebuilds — interior, navigation, systems and exterior. The aim is a yacht that fits the owner again, to the same finish standard as new build.
